About one of a kind buttons
One of a Kind Buttons are handmade and kiln fired stoneware, terracotta or porcelain clay. The clay is stamped with a variety of images, some found, some for texture, and others I have drawn. Most of the glaze colors are what I like to call 'happy accidents'. I have experimented with a lot of different glazes, one over another to create those beautiful colors. My buttons can be used on knitted, woven, or felted garments and fabric. The buttons are very durable, but are unable to go through the clothes dryer since they will chip. They are perfectly fine in the washing machine though, as long as the garment is turned inside out, although hand washing is most recommended. Dry flat or hang. Not all of my buttons are featured on this website. I selected the most popular images and colors, but will be adding new buttons as I continue to build the site.
Candace Van Beveren - Wilson works out of her studio in Damascus Oregon, located in the foothills of beautiful Mt. Hood. A retired graphic artist still in love with printing, but in a new form, on clay. I love making buttons, pins, pendants, shawl pins and ornaments with a lot of fun textures. I also throw on the wheel, build slab pots, and make tile murals. I am in several yearly events that are fiber related and trunk shows in the Northwest. I feel blessed living where I do and for what I do. I thank all who have supported my clay passion.
Buying One of a Kind Buttons
The photo(s) of the button you see on the page will be the button you will get, I will be marketing my buttons one by one.
Please note that each One of Kind button is unique and I try my hardest to give an accurate representation of the buttons through the pictures on my website. No two buttons of One of kind buttons are exactly alike. Also, any device viewing the website might change the color as seen on the website and through my photos. Since shipping has increased so dramatically, I also ask that orders are over $25.00 worth of product. I wrap all buttons shipped in protective material and take extra precaution to make sure that the buttons arrive safely. If you have an issue with a button, please let me know so I can help you with it.
